Ceará hosts a large share of Brazil's kite and wing competitions. We gathered the dates published by the organisers. Calendars change, so confirm with the event before you travel.
Next stop
The Paracuru stage of the Festival GKC Velas is set for 10 to 13 December 2026 and closes the season. When we last checked, disciplines, schedule and entries were still to be defined on the festival's site.
What already happened in 2026
- Festival GKC Velas in Trairi, 21 to 27 June: Brazilian and South American championship, first stage of the festival.
- Ceará Kite in Cumbuco, 1 and 2 August: Kite Day opened the three-event circuit.
- Festival GKC Velas in Preá, in September: a Brazilian championship stage with 126 competitors, including Big Air, Strapless Freestyle, Rally Cross and Wing Foil Race.
- GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup at Ilha do Guajiru, 21 to 24 October: the world final. See how it went.
2027 dates in Brazil
- GKA Freestyle World Cup Brazil: 9 to 14 October 2027.
- GKA Kite-Surf World Cup Brazil: 3 to 6 November 2027.
For now, the GKA calendar only gives the country, not the city. We will update this page when the venues are announced.
